Inspirations and Influences

Coming from a multi racial, multi cultural home, D-Light has become a very unique musician, with many different influences. South Africa taught him the rhythms of drums, which is evident in the unique patterns he creates. Ghana and Kenya helped develop his rap flow and performing skills. He has developed into an all around talent - focused primarily on producing hip-hop, trap and R&B Beats. Impacted by the culture, sounds and rhythms of Africa and the Caribbean, he has developed the ability to create beats in multiple genres and styles.
D-Light aspires to create and music that changes people's lives and, in addition, changes the industry itself.
His goal is to inspire other independent producers who have little equipment to make beats with their heart, train their ears through hours of hard work, and create music through emotion, rather than relying on the high end equipment to create that feel.
